Abstract
Transient global amnesia is characterized by abrupt onset anterograde memory impairment lasting 1 to 24 hours. Although the etiology of transient global amnesia has not been definitively determined, affected individuals may show infarction-like diffusion-limiting lesions in the hippocampus on brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diffusion sequence. In our case, we aimed to present a case of transient global amnesia, which started suddenly, lasted for about two hours and then completely resolved, and showed acute diffusion restriction in bilateral hippocampal regions in the MRI diffusion sequence.
