Abstract
Central venous catheters could crack, fracture, and embolize in about 1% of their usage. In patients on a chemotherapy regimen, it's a severe and sporadic complication, and few cases have been reported in children. We report a successful technique using a snare for retrieving broken inserted venous port in a child on chemotherapy. Percutaneous retrieval of line fragments is occasionally helpful and ought to be done by interventional cardiologists for retrieving migrated catheters in all children.
