Abstract
Intracranial lipomas are extremely rare, accounting for 0.1–0.5% of all primary brain tumors. Lipoma results from the abnormal persistence and maldifferentiation of the embryonic meninx primitive. The most frequent site is corpus callosum: grouped into two distinct types based on imaging i.e. tubulonodular and curvilinear. They are mainly asymptomatic but may present with epileptic seizures, which is the most common presenting complaint. No specific treatment is usually required, although seizure if present needs medical management. The prognosis of intracranial lipoma is generally good, especially for pure corpus callosum lesions, however surgical intervention is limited. Intracranial lipomas being extremely rare are frequently overlooked on routine CT scans. It may be found as an incidental finding. This should be kept in mind when a patient presents with complaint of mild headache or fits. Its asymptomatic presence should be considered as a precursor of impending disease. We are presenting a case of an adult female with a small curvilinear Pericallosal Intracranial Lipoma that was found incidentally on a CT scan brain during an evaluation of trauma.
