Abstract
Lipomas are the most common type of soft-tissue tumor, and they can develop anywhere throughout the body. We report one case of a giant lipoma of the back that progressed for 17 years of a 71-year-old man. We signal the interest of MRI that allow us to define limits of the mass and to ease the surgical treatment. The mass was resected in a bloc and the pathological analysis confirmed that the mass was a benign lipoma. The patient made a full recovery, with good skin healing and successful social reintegration.
